Sunrise – Sunset – Mixed Media

Monday 7 March

I continue my take on Mixed Media…. As I was saying: I am not very brave and bold when it comes to using texture mediums, sprays, paints, beads and all other ingredients that makes for the perfect  Mixed Media layouts and projects, but I do love looking at it and find inspiration…. I get a kit from a kit club  every month and this is what I did with mine…

‘Cherish ? Always’

I used Prima Sunrise – Sunset col. I used a stencil/mask from Prima and colored the modeling paste with yellow paint on the background. I used another mask with plain white modeling past as well. I cut slits in the top left and bottom right corners with my craft knife and slit a punched strip in there….I used Vellum,a paper doily and black mesh for texture and interest. The flowers are all from Prima and Petaloo. The stickers and wood buttons are all from the Sunrise-Sunset col.

‘Young at Heart’

A quick, easy one with a photo of my Father-in-Law. I Love the photo and wanted it to be the focal point. I used a stencil/mask with brown ink from Tim Holtz in the background together with black mesh for texture. The gorgeous zipper flowers was from Prima. The stickers are all from the Sunrise-Sunset col. I added some stitching and ‘snap buttons’ from my stash…

‘Like Old Times’

I absolutely LOVE this lacy paper – Sunrise-Sunset col. I used  a baby photo of myself here. I do sometimes wish life could slow down a little bit and be a little more ‘Like Old Times’ when we had No worries in the world. Nothing to make life more complicated. When it was all good to eat cake and not worry about jeans not fitting…… For texture, I used ‘cheese cloth’ in the back, behind my photo and flower cluster. I had no more flowers left from the kit,so I just used some from my stash…I used modeling paste with a Prima stencil on the background. The flowers, bird house and bird cage are from Prima  and Petaloo (the butterflies and big roses)

This was it…

Thank You for looking

Till next Time
